My grandpa, Percy Edward Dennis, was a hard working farmer and carpenter. As I grew up, I admired and tried to emulate him. His support of my parents as missionaries in Africa and his faithfulness to family and church set an example for us all. I remember one day when my dad came home with his old work boots. My older brother and I each took turns owning and wearing them. They did not quite fit me, but I wore them with pride. They eventually found their place in the back of the closet. One day, in high school, I decided to preserve their memory in an oil painting. Grandma loved this painting, and for years it proudly hung on her wall. "Grandpa's Boots" is now published for you as a reminder of a life well spent and is a motivation to all of us to invest well for the future.
"How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!" - Romans 10:15b
