Shea's Castle
In 1924 Richard Shea, a developer from New York, moved to the dry California climate in hopes of helping his wife, Ellen, with her health. It took him two years to build this castle on its 1,500 acre parcel west of Lancaster, CA and south of the Antelope Valley Poppy Reserve. In the 1929 stock market crash, Shea went bankrupt and later died penniless. Time has certainly taught us that life has its ups and downs, but the Psalmist got it right when he penned these words in Psalm 61:3 "For thou hast been a shelter for me, and a strong tower from the enemy." These are available as 4.25 x 5.5 notecards and 5.5 x 8.5 greeting cards with envelopes. They are also available as canvas, signed, high quality open edition. The limited editions come in standard numbered and artist's proofs. The standard numbered (S/N) is a brushed, signed, and numbered limited edition of 900 copies. The artist proof (A/P) is a highlighted, brushed, signed, and numbered edition of 100 copies. The master detailed edition (M/E) is a print repainted by the artist to look similar to the original. These are all available in seven sizes 6 x 8, 8 x 10, 11 x 14, 16 x 20, 20 x 24, 24 x 30, 32 x 40 sold as frameless wraps or with Victorian style frames.
